This policy explains what information CalcTheBuild ("we", "us") collects when you use calcthebuild.com (the "Site"), how we use it and the choices you have.

Information you enter into calculators

Calculations run entirely in your browser. The measurements and prices you type in are not sent to or stored on our servers. We save your unit and currency preference in your browser's local storage so it's remembered on your next visit.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, date and time) for security and to keep the Site running. With your consent, we also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects data such as pages visited, approximate location (country/city), device type and referring website. We do not use this data to identify you personally.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense to show ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.

Under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR, we process analytics and advertising data on the basis of your consent, and server logs on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the Site secure. California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

We do not sell personal information for money. Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the UK and EEA), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Data retention and security

Analytics data is retained for up to 14 months. We use HTTPS and reputable service providers to protect the data we handle, although no internet transmission is completely secure.
